WiFi AT THE
The Groton Public Library has a WiFi network through which you can connect your own computer to the Internet. Staff at the 3rd Floor Information Desk can offer LIMITED troubleshooting and technical support.
Before using the WiFi network, you must agree to abide by the following provisions in the library’s computer use policy:
1.
Unethical
or illegal use of computers or other electronic devices in the library, and/or
accessing obscene material as defined by M.G.L. c. 272, § 31, is
prohibited. Users in violation of this policy will have their privileges
suspended.
2.
In the
Children’s Room, the WiFi network may be used only by children up to grade 5
and their parents or caregivers. Children under the age of 6 must be under the
direct supervision of a parent or caregiver.
3. Any Groton Public Library patron with a blocked status (for overdue materials or unpaid fines) may lose WiFi use privilege until the account is cleared.
4. As with all other activities in the library, patrons are asked to be respectful of others while using their computers. Disruptive or disrespectful behavior will result in a suspension of computer use privileges.
The network supports the 802.11 a, b, and g standards. Printing over the WiFi network is not currently possible.
