The Library is pleased to announce the latest service for Groton residents—downloadable audiobooks from Recorded Books and NetLibrary! Listen to audiobooks you download to your computer. Transfer the digital audio files to an MP3 device that plays .wma files and you can listen anywhere. Hundreds of unabridged audiobook titles are available, including the award-winning Pimsleur language series, the Modern Scholar series, and many children's and young adult titles. New titles are added monthly.
Groton residents can set up an account from home and access the audio library from any computer, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Unlimited copies of each title are available, so there are no holds to worry about. There are no overdue fines. Unless they are renewed, titles cease to play after 21 days. Users can check out up to 10 titles at one time. Downloading is available without any special software for your computer or portable audio player. IPod models are not compatible with this system, but the books may be played on many other portable device models. Lists of recommended players are available at the Library or by clicking on the link to the left. Best of all, this exciting and convenient new service is provided FREE by the Groton Public Library.
